About Seked Labs
Seked Labs is an engineer-led development company based in Sheffield. We help technical teams turn uncertain engineering problems into working physical systems, especially where measurement, experimentation, automation, or data capture are involved.
Built around practical development
Seked Labs sits between consultancy and workshop. We can help define the engineering problem, design a practical route forward, build the first version, and improve it through testing and iteration.
Our in-house development space brings together CAD-led design, prototype fabrication, electronics integration, and hands-on assembly. That means early ideas can move quickly from discussion and sketches into fixtures, test pieces, enclosures, rigs, and integrated prototype systems.
Why Seked Labs exists
Many technical projects reach a stage where the idea is clear enough to explore, but not defined enough for a standard supplier or large integrator. A research team may need a custom rig, a startup may need a working prototype, or a manufacturer may need a practical way to measure, test, or automate part of a process.
Seked Labs was created for that early, uncertain stage. We combine engineering judgement with build capability so that ideas can be tested physically, not left as reports or drawings.
Background
Founder
Dr Mohamed Atwya, engineer and researcher with a PhD in machine learning for advanced manufacturing from the University of Sheffield.
Technical focus
Engineering development for physical systems, including prototype hardware, sensing, instrumentation, automation concepts, inspection workflows, and applied data analysis.
Approach
Practical, iterative development: understand the problem, build the smallest useful system, capture the right data, then improve based on evidence.

What we work on
Typical work includes research rigs, test fixtures, inspection and data-capture setups, prototype enclosures, sensor systems, bench-top demonstrators, instrumentation builds, and early automation concepts.
We are particularly suited to projects where design and build need to happen together, and where the goal is to make a physical process more measurable, testable, repeatable, or automated.
